 REPAIRS FAQ'S

  • What do I do if my blind needs repair/ part?
The first thing to do when your blind needs repair/ part is to email us with clear photos detailing what the issue is. More often than not your blind may just need a tweak or battery check to get it up and running. Should this not be the case you can bring it to our showroom and we will send it out for repair or we can order a part. Please note: We only service customers who have bought their blind/s from Fresh Design.
  • What is covered under warranty?
Hunter Douglas offers a lifetime limited warranty on the following: Hunter Douglas window fashion products are covered for defects in materials, workmanship or failure to operate for as long as the original retail purchaser owns the product (unless shorter periods are provided below) All internal mechanisms. Components and brackets. Fabric delamination. Operational cords for a full 7 years from the date of purchase. Repairs and/or replacements will be made with like or similar parts or products. Hunter Douglas motorization components are covered for 5 years from the date of purchase. NOT covered by a lifetime limited warranty: Any conditions caused by normal wear and tear. Abuse, accidents, misuse or alterations to the product. Exposure to the elements (sun damage, wind, water/ moisture) and discoloration or fading over time. Failure to follow our instructions with respect to measurement, proper installation, cleaning or maintenance. Please note: Service Calls (cost of removal or reinstallation) and shipping costs are not covered under warranty.
  • How long will it take to repair my blind?
Typically your blind will be ready between 3 to 4 weeks (estimated). This is dependant on how busy our repair centre is and the global supply chain. We understand the inconvenience of having an empty window, however once your blind is out for repair we cannot control how fast it will return.
  • What if I can't remove my blind?
If you are unable to remove your blind or it has stopped working we can set up a service call (please see the next section for pricing). We will send one of our professional window technicians to your home or business to either fix the issue or remove it and bring it to our showroom to be sent out for repair.
  • What is the cost of a service call?
Each service call visit is $150. You may only need to have one visit, however if you require our technician to return or reinstall your blind this will be and additional $150. This is industry standard and our technicians are certified by Hunter Douglas servicing proprietary parts. Attempting to repair your blind yourself or using an outside vendor will likely void your warranty. Please note: We offer complimentary service calls to our customers within their first year of purchase. Service calls are not covered under warranty.
